Enter Hannah's mother, Donna, who holds a grudge better than Super Glue, and she isn't about to forgive Mark for leading her daughter Sydney into a path of destruction when they were teenagers. Donna holds a grudge against Mark's dad, too. She is completely opposed to Hannah renting a home from Redd. She is really opposed when she learns her youngest daughter Hannah has feelings for bad-boy Mark. As you can tell, there is much conflict in this story and it kept this story moving.
The author takes us back to the familiar town of Corinthia, Georgia and brings back some familiar faces that we met in her previous book. I appreciate seeing familiar characters as it gives the feel that I'm back home, too. I applaud the rich storyline and fascinating multifaceted characters which made this story a keeper and so pleasing to read. The fact that I wanted the story to continue caused me to rate it Five Stars!
Well Done, Missy! Jan 13, Dora Hiers rated it it was amazing. I can see why this book is a RITA finalist! Missy Tippens really knows how to ratchet up the emotional conflict.
After overcoming a troubled youth and building up a successful business in Seattle, Mark Ryker returns to Georgia to apologize to his father for his past. Saddened by his father's rejection but knowing he's right where God wants him to be, Mark determines to stay in town until he can get his father to talk to him. To pass the time while his father works, Mark makes some much need Wow! To pass the time while his father works, Mark makes some much needed repairs to the family homestead.
Widow Hannah Hughes only wants to provide for her four children, and a home of their own is her top priority. Mark's return upsets her. She can't possibly afford another house as big as the one they're renting from Mark's dad, and what if Mark decides to move back? But there's another reason she gives Mark grief for coming back. Her family suffered tremendous loss from Mark's youthful indiscretions. An apology doesn't erase the past, and forgiveness doesn't come easy, but her children don't share that issue. Mark's easy, gentle way with them wins their love, and that's a sure way to win a mother's heart.
This is one of those books where you wonder most of the way through how the hero and heroine can possibly find their happily-ever-after. Several conflicts and obstacles threaten to tear them apart, including vicious town gossips and Hannah's own mother. At times, I wanted to shake some sense into both Mark and Hannah, but with their past hurts and present emotions, I could understand why they reacted the way they did.

Jan 16, J. Prodigal son romances are tricky. Rarely is an author brave enough to flesh out a tale where an entire town and a heroine are hard pressed to forgive a hero. Missy Tippens has bravely tackled the theme and produced a fine tale of forgiveness and love hard won. Mark Ryker, a successful businessman, returns home to make amends and is immediately faced with the obstacle of a small town not willing to forgive his wild youth or the damage he has done to others.
Her harried, protective mama persona had this reader sympathizing with her even when she seemed to give Mark too hard a time. The difficult obstacles with no easy solutions make the romance all that more enjoyable to read and definitely sigh-worthy at the end. Feb 25, Kav rated it it was amazing. Tippens knows how to pull at the heartstrings of her readers! I was engaged from the very first page I love it when authors play around with my emotions and Tippens definitely did that when she chose this difficult subject matter.
There is so much conflict and so many injustices that my stomach gets into knots just thinking about it. And that's the key to a really good story -- one that leaves you thinking about it days after you've read it. There's an important inspirational mess Tippens knows how to pull at the heartstrings of her readers! There's an important inspirational messages in A House Full of Hope. Tippens manages to make a significant statement without coming across as preachy. She really sent me into a deep reflection on what the words redeem and forgive mean and how I can apply them in my life and, more importantly, in the lives of others.
This would be a great choice for a church book club -- there is so much fodder for discussion! And bonus -- that message comes wrapped up in an inspiring romantic story with engaging and infuriating characters you won't soon forget. This is definitely Tippens at her best -- and you can't get any better than that! May 08, Ausjenny rated it it was amazing Shelves: contempory.
Thanks Missy for my copy of this book, I won it at Seekerville. I enjoyed this book. We see Mark Ryker coming back to his home town after being a troubled teen. He has left behind some issues that many in the town won't let him forget.
Hannah is now the mother of 4 children and trying to make a safe home for her children in Mark's fathers house. Mark is back and wants his father back in his house and thinks coming back should sort everything out. What he doesn't count on is that its isn't that s Thanks Missy for my copy of this book, I won it at Seekerville. What he doesn't count on is that its isn't that simple. Hannah distrusts Mark because of his past and how he affected her family before he went away.
The book deals alot with healing, forgiveness and understanding. It also shows that our perception of an issue is not the only one. Sometimes we have to look at an issue as an outsider to truly understand the full story. I love the children also in this story, they tend to steal scenes. This is a lovely story. May 19, Kara rated it it was amazing. This is not a review, but I really enjoyed this book in every way. I love stories of redemption after a character has messed up. Mark has been accepted Christ into his life, but now he has been convicted to return to his hometown to seek forgiveness from his family and friends.
I would have bought it anyway, because Carol J. Post has a gift for creating nail-biting tension with just the right amount of humor to keep you reading non-stop until the end. Jun 22, Jami rated it really liked it Shelves: contemporary-fiction , inspirational-romance , mystery-suspense. The more that I read suspense novels, the more I develop a keen interest in reading more.
Carol J. Post is a wonderful writer who pours all of her effort into writing books with incredible settings and drama and believable characters. Fatal Recall is her most recent novel, and it didn't disappoint me. Tanner Brody, a police officer, was in transition from his job at one police precinct to another.

He decided to use that dead time to have some fun. His kayaking adventure turned into an adventure no one is interested in. Gunshots fired over and over, followed by the sound of a scream. Tanner decided to investigate, and the result of his investigation led him to Paige. Paige Tatem was unconscious when Tanner found her.
When she awoke, she had no memory of who she was or that she was in danger. When shots were aimed their way, Paige had no choice but to go with Tanner to escape certain death.
The next several days were wrought with frustration, fear, and determination to survive. Tanner and Paige forged the situation together, learned a lot about themselves and each other , and faced the danger head-on. Bringing the story to an explosive start, Carol drew me in to the story of Fatal Recall quickly. She masterfully crafted the character of Paige and did very well with showing the nuances of amnesia and the unpredictability of recovery.
Tanner and Paige each had a history of a hard upbringing, causing them to each have trust issues and, for Paige, some lack of self-worth. There was a subtle message in the story about God's love and the ability to heal emotional wounds and overcome past hurts.
Fatal Recall is a Christian suspense novel with a bit of romance thrown in. I gladly recommend this novel to all of my reader friends! Jun 23, Julie D. I have read other books by Carol Post and always love them. This book is no exception! This book is action packed, fast paced and kept me wondering what would happen next. Paige is a strong character without being overly much. I liked that she wasn't afraid to ask for help when she needed it. I liked Tanner, too, as he felt a sense of duty but wasn't over-bearing. Their relationship was lovely in that it didn't move along too fast or too slow and seemed very real.
When Tanner finds Paige in the woods, she has been hurt and can't remember anything, including her name or what she's doing there. The story unfolds in a way that keeps your attention. In fact, I read this book in a short time because I just couldn't put it down! We have to go with Paige through her memory loss so we have no idea what's going to happen and that really added to the suspense for me, which I love! I also thought how the author brought faith into the book was so perfect. She does it in a believable way and it's wonderful how she shows His redemptive work in Paige. Tanner is very much against God but as he watches Paige and how she lives out her faith, we see his heart soften.
As someone who really enjoys a good mystery, this fit the bill perfectly. I was never sure what was really behind everything that was happening and there were some shocking revelations along the way. I highly recommend this book and I do hope you'll get a copy and read it for yourself.
You'll enjoy it so much! I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Jun 01, Joni Fisher rated it it was amazing Shelves: mystery-thriller-suspense , romance. Fatal Recall by award-winning author Carol J. Post accelerates quickly. It roars through tense action as killers track a woman who knows too much.
The killers, unaware she has amnesia, intend to kill her before she regains her memory. The story is set in the Appalachian mountains and includes white-water rafting, hiking, and some of my favorite small towns in North Carolina. The alternating scenes allow the reader to see deep inside the characters, their reasoning, their emotions, and their expectations. The faith element of the story rings true as both hero and heroine grapple with their understanding of the value of faith in a dangerous, ungodly world.
The struggle with faith is subtle and genuine, never preachy. I was especially impressed by how the author crafted backstories of the hero and heroine that conflict and overlap. Under less dangerous circumstances, these two people would be unlikely to meet and yet their chemistry ignites the pages.
The killers were crafted as genuine people, more like the odd neighbors down the street than caricature bad guys sometimes pasted into romance novels. A great book, Fatal Recall arrives just in time for that first summer trip to the beach. Jul 04, Glenda Parker rated it it was amazing. Carol is an awesome author. I'm sure you know that. This book is an excellent example of her work. This story is well written, action packed, and full of faith. You are going to love this book. Eight weeks ago his life imploded.
