I love the fact Millie is so protective and she certainly has methods of eliminating the men who she considers unsuitable for Jenni! This is a fine mix of light-hearted romance but significant amounts of blubbing will ensue if you are an animal lover. There are some great characters, I could picture Ross her gay best friend, he is so full of warmth and the hunky Vet Scott is rather delectable.

Naughty Cat will take you through the many ways a cat can be naughty and how they get away with it all mostly. From sleeping to eating, and playing and even pooping, you will find tons of laughs and giggles in this wonderful book about a very naughty cat. So this book immediately grabbed my attention. Have you ever wondered what your cat is thinking? The reasons behind their zany antics or the pure aloofness that some animals maintain.. I loved the excellent observations the author has made on his own fur babies. It is spot on and written with humour and love. Wonderful debut and I look forward to reading further entertaining cat adventures from Daniel.

Investigating a severed hand found on the 3rd green of a Cumbrian golf course was not how Detective Inspector Avison Fluke had planned to spend his Saturday. But trouble is never far away. In a case that will change his life forever, Fluke immerses himself in a world of new age travellers, corrupt cops and domestic extremists. But Fluke is only getting started. A voice has called out to him from beyond the grave and he has no intention of ignoring it.

Although he was born in Cumbria, Mike Craven grew up in the North East before running away to join the army as soon as he was sixteen. In he left the army, and after a brief flirtation with close protection and bodyguarding, decided on a degree in social work with specialisms in criminology and substance misuse. In he joined Cumbria Probation Service as a probation officer, working his way up to chief officer grade.

Sixteen years later, he took the plunge and accepted redundancy to concentrate on writing full-time, and now has entirely different motivations for trying to get inside the minds of criminals.

  3. The History of Pickering.

The first Poe book — as yet untitled — will be published in hardback in spring Between leaving the army and securing his first publishing deal, Mike found time to keep a pet crocodile, breed snakes, get married, and buy a springer spaniel named Bracken. He lives in Carlisle with his wife, Joanne, where he tries to leave the house as little as possible. OMG just look at this cover.. I found myself drawn to him instantly. The prologue grasped me and made me put aside some time to get engrossed in this book. Fluke is called to investigate a discovered hand on the golf course as you do!

Towler is fabulous and they balance each other brilliantly. I was on the edge of my seat and cursing a few of the folk, one in particular who really made me squirm. A good solid story, excellent ending that leaves me wanting more! I have yet more favourite detectives to add to my list. Bombshell Books are back! About Scott Moon. Scott Moon. Scott Moon loves audio books, especially the works of George R. He has been writing fantasy, science fiction, and urban fantasy thrillers most of his life and aims to read or listen to books a year. Currently, he is a commissioned police officer serving in a street level counter drug and gang unit. Some of his most rewarding and heartbreaking wo Scott Moon loves audio books, especially the works of George R.

Some of his most rewarding and heartbreaking work was as a detective in the Exploited Missing Child Unit. The series was about a man who had slain the last dragon that had been seen in the land and his wife, who was a low powered witch. The first book starts with the main character being called by the king or some higher lord to kill a new dragon that has taken over a gold mine.

Dragons are fully sentient and powerful magic users.

Dragon Slayer

This new dragon is a very old black dragon and ends up getting into a kind of relationship with the wife. At the end of the first book the dragon turns her into a dragon but she ends up changing her mind and becoming a human again to be with her husband.

The next two books were about the man, wife, and the dragon fighting a demon I think. Another thing, dragons like gold because they can sing to it and it resonates really well. Dragons also don't breath fire, they spray some kind of acid, or maybe a highly oxidizing fluid. This is the Winterland trilogy of books by Barbara Hambly. The blurb for the first one mentions a reluctant ex-dragon-slayer, a black dragon, a goldmine and a request from a King. When the Black Dragon seized the Deep of Ylferdun, young Gareth braved the far Winterlands to find John Aversin, Dragonsbane -- the only living man ever to slay a dragon.

Dragon Attack

In return for the promise of the King to send help to the Winterlands, Aversin agreed to attempt the nearly impossible feat again. With them, to guard them on the haunted trip south, went Jenny Waynest, a half-taught sorceress and mother of Aversin's sons. But at the decadent Court, nothing was as expected. Rebellion threatened the land. Zyerne, a sorceress of seemingly unlimited power, held the King under an evil spell, and he refused to see them.

Meantime, the dragon fed well on the knights who had challenged him. There's also a mention of the dragon spraying acid and singing to his gold.
